Dispersion in prism but not in gl slab......Why?

The gl slab causes light (photons) to refract at one surface and to reverse the process at the other parallel surface cancelling any effect. The prism with three internal surfaces allows the light photons to refract at two non-parallel surfaces before exiting the prism, preserving the separation of colors (light wavelengths) rather than cancelling the entire effect.
