ault charges?

Friday night my boyfriend and I were at a local bar. Being St. Patrick's Day weekend, it was extremely crowded. Bouncer asked my boyfriend to move back, boyfriend responded "I can't move back any further". Boucer thought boyfriend was mouthy so he proceded to kick us out. We waited at the coat check so we could get our stuff and leave. I told boucer he was pathetic and he grabbed my arm and dumped my own drink in my face. Being a girl, I knew I couldn't hit him because it wouldn't bother him, so I spit in his face. (I know, not cly). Bouncer didn't like this and he knew he couldn't hit me, so he beat the crap out of my boyfriend. Cops were already patrolling the place, they wouldn't do anything about it. They wouldn't even bring the bouncer out of the bar so we could get his information to press charges. Two questions: Do we have a legitimate case to press charges against the bouncer/bar? And can we file a complaint against the Police for just rushing us off? Thanks!
