9 mth old bet hound?

My new puppy is sort of clumsy and runs into things sometimes while playing with our other dog. Until tonight, I didn't think anything of it but then my boyfriend noticed he had a gray tint to his eye when light shined on it. Im really concerned. Is this normal in bets? I was reading an article about dogs with diabetes and cataracts. Is this something I should be concerned about? Thanks fot the advise!!
